Alison Wetherly is a British open water swimmer who became the youngest person to swim across the English Channel from France to England on 18 August 1983 in 16 hours 20 minutes at the age of 12 years 161 days. Her record was broken later in the day by Samantha Druce, another British open water swimmer who became the youngest person to swim across the English Channel from England to France on 18 August 1983 in 15 hours 27 minutes at the age of 12 years 118 days.
