Alice Dearing
Olympic 10K Marathon Swim finalist at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games on 4 August 2021]] Alice Georgina Dearing (born 23 April 1997) is a 22-year-old British pool and open water swimmer who studied Social Media and Political Communication at Loughborough University. She is coached by Andi Manley and is the second black swimmer to represent Great Britain on the international scene.
Open Water Swimming Career[edit]

- In 2014, she finished fourth in the 7.5 km race at the FINA World Junior Open Water Swimming Championships in Lake Balaton, Balatonfured, Hungary.
- In 2015, she finished 3rd in the European Junior Open Water Swimming Championships.
- In 2015, she competed in the FINA World Aquatics Championships.
- In 2015, she finished 2nd in the Great North Swim in Windermere, England.
- In 2016, she won the 18-19 girls 10 km marathon swim at the FINA World Junior Open Water Swimming Championships in Hoorn, Netherlands, finishing 0.5 seconds over Hungary's Nikoletta Kiss in 2:04:24.1 to win the first British gold medal at a World Junior Open Water Championship.
- In 2016, she was one of the 33 people selected for British Swimming’s Podium Potential programme.
- In 2017, she competed in the 5 km race at the FINA World Swimming Championships in Lake Balaton, Hungary.
- On 27 August 2017, she competed in the World University Games 10 km marathon swim in Taipei, Taiwan.
- In 2018, she was selected to participate in the British Swimming World Class Performance Programme.
- In 2019, she finished 17th in the 10 km marathon swim at the FINA World Aquatics Championships in 1:55:05.90.
- In February 2020 in Doha, she finished 10th at the FINA Marathon Swim World Series 10 km race in 1:56.47.5.
- She finished 4th in the FINA Olympic Marathon Swim Qualifier for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in Setúbal Bay, Portugal on 19 June 2021 and qualified for the 2020 Olympic 10K Marathon Swim in Tokyo on 4 August 2021.
- She finished 12th in the 10 km in 2:01:37.70 at the age of 23 at the FINA/CNSG Marathon Swim World Series on Qatar on 13 May 2021.
- She finished 10th in the 10 km in 1:56:47.50 at the age of 22 at the FINA/CNSG Marathon Swim World Series on Qatar on 15 February 2020.
- She competed in the 5 km Mixed Team relay at the age of 22 at the 18th FINA World Championships]] in South Korea on 18 July 2019.
- She finished 17th in the 10 km in 1:55:05.90 at the age of 22 at the 18th FINA World Championships]] in South Korea on 14 July 2019.
- She finished 34th in the 10 km in 2:05:25.50 at the age of 21 at the FINA/CNSG Marathon Swim World Series in Qatar on 16 February 2019.
- She finished 24th in the 10 km in 2:04:26.80 at the age of 21 at the FINA/Hosa Marathon Swim World Series in the UAE on 9 November 2018.
- She finished 12th in the 10 km in 1:58:39.30 at the age of 21 at the European Championships in the UK on 9 August 2018.
- She finished 10th in the 10 km in 1:58:38.90 at the age of 21 at the FINA/Hosa Marathon Swim World Series in Seychelles on 20 May 2018.
- On 4 August 2021, she finished 19th in the Olympic 10K Marathon Swim at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games in Odaiba Marine Park.
